KINTEX owns the largest exhibition venue in Korea and has been organizing K-Beauty Expo Korea, the largest beauty trade show in Korea which has been held successfully for 12 years with 1,000 beauty and cosmetics brands. This year KINTEX launches a new online exhibition & conference platform “K-Beauty Week 2020” that reflects industrial trends and paradigm changes in the post-corona era. In recent years, the export amount of cosmetics and personal care has grown rapidly every year thanks to the Korean Wave that never cools down and the power of K-beauty brands. As the coronavirus spread around the world, the export performance of Korean cosmetics slowed to -2.9% and -4.1% in April and May, respectively, showing a recovery trend in June and July, increasing 14,9% and 14.7%. Korea Trade Statistics Promotion Institute announced that online sales surged despite the coronavirus, and cosmetics exports in August 2020 were $57 million, up 20% from the same period of 2019.

 

In this rapidly changing era, K-Beauty has planned to hold the “K-Beauty Week” so that K-beauty can maintain its existing ripple effect and establish itself as a global standard. As an alternative to existing offline exhibitions, 'Invited Buyer Video Consultation Program' with KOTRA and 'Domestic Distributor MD Purchase Consultation Program' with Korea MD Association will be provided to all exhibitors. “K-Beauty Week” will not only builds an integrated online exhibition hall, but also supports 1:1 business matching between exhibitors and buyers around the world over the constraints of place and time. In addition, the online conference “K-Beauty Insight Trend Concert, R&D Concert / Trend TALKTech TALK” newly launched in 2020 which provides core solutions to prepare for the post-corona environment and the online special pavilion 'K-Beauty Insight Zone' with WGSN the leading trend consulting agency will be provided to participants of 'K-Beauty Week' so they can maximize the advantages of online exhibition.
